Lyle had headed into the woods in search of Traes, unaware of the change he had taken. He found Traes without actually knowing that the crimson-violet Dragon was actually his close friend. Scales was asleep at this moment, and didn't know his old friend was standing a mere foot away.
Scales lay on the dirt and common debris scattered about, unaware of his old human friend reaching towards him.
He woke up as he suddenly felt his sensitive wings get touched by something--or someone--unknown; he shot up and immediately glared upwards at the human.
Scales made no attempt to remember whether he knew this human, or to communicate. Instead, he stepped back, letting shyness go over himself as a way of being cautious.
"Well, you woke up quickly, little lizard... Come on, I'm taking you to my friend Traes!..." Lyle spoke as quickly as he could think, while he attempted to grab Scales.
But Scales, instead, bit him so hard that blood began to drip as Lyle recoiled.
"Hey! What was that for?! I was only trying to be friendly!"
Scales whimpered quite weakly in response, as if scared.
"Oh! You're only little, right? Really young? Like... A baby?" Lyle said as he sat on the dirt, about three feet away from Baby Scales.
A whine left Scales as his stomach suddenly growled, causing Lyle to crawl closer to Scales.
"Can you understand me?"
Scales' only reply, was a weak nod, before his stomach growled again.
"Well, Don't Lizards like you usually have Watchers? Or Parents?"
Scales stood still for a moment and looked around as if he was looking for just that: A pair of Dragons that would be his mother and father.
"Are you alone?..." Lyle spoke softly as he reached out a second time, petting Scales on his side.
Scales turned back and looked at Lyle, setting his eyes on something in Lyle's hand. It was a small apple, and Scales began to drool at the sight of it.
"So you're a fruit-eating Lizard, then..."
Lyle waves it back and forth, teasing Scales until he willingly crawled towards him, after the apple.
Lyle let go of the apple when Scales was a foot away, letting it fall onto the ground.
To Scales, the apple fell in slow motion as he instantly reacted to catch it in mid-air, pouncing forward, launching himself into the air, clamping his jaws with an audible crunch on the apple, and landing with his front paws on Lyle's shin, who was at this point sitting cross legged.
"WHAT WHAT WHAT?!" Lyle jumped up onto his feet, knocking Scales over onto his back while doing so.
A low whine was heard over the weak crunching of an apple being bitten.
"You're... fast... I'm sorry, that just... really startled me..."
Lyle smiled when Scales wagged his tail in response; before another crunch came from the apple, and Scales rolled onto his paws. He went up to Lyle and chomped the apple again, still holding it in his mouth.
"Traes would be so excited to see one of you.. Dragons?... Yeah, Dragons. But I can't find him anywhere...." As he spoke, he let Scales lay in front of him and play with the apple.
Scales looked up, as if something clicked in his mind, and his tail twitched back and forth.
Then everything went black, and Scales collapsed to the ground.
"What...?" Lyle was confused. "Dragon? Are you okay? W-Wake up!"
